US Elle September 2022 : Adele by Mario Sorrenti

I don't buy into anything else about her, but I always buy Adele's covers, because she's consistently glamorous - and that glamour is a look she wants for herself, not something she's play-acting for a shoot.

Both US and UK covers are nice, they could've at least pick a nice location to shoot her. Adele is a beautiful woman and I don't think these pics inside a compound/house didn't gave her justice.

I like the photos. It's glamorous and mature and sultry, but I feel like I've seen Adele this way SO many times. As another user pointed out, the average-looking midcentury house setting feels underwhelming and overdone, too. And it's hard to get excited about this for September when her US and especially UK Vogue covers from less than a year ago were, in my opinion, far superior.

Very glamorous and sultry indeed, I felt the makeup looked harsh in certain photos but it plays to the vibe of the shoot. Cortina delivers as usual, always enjoy his work and I really like it when Mario does moody fashion. It's great in my opinion, can't go too wrong with Adele and I'll definitely consider adding this to my collection.

The lighting makes her look so old. Washed out and really bad eyebags. Shes beautiful but this is a bad picture of her.

It's simple without any gimmick just how I want it to be. The only thing that I could pinpoint on some of her photos is how tensed her expressions are.

This is a huge improvement from their tacky Latinx issue last year with Selena Gomez.

there’s only a couple of pictures that I really like. her facial expressions are a little too forced plus whoever did that conturing or photoshop should be sacked.

it’s a shame because it has everything to be spectacular.

I love what magazines are doing with Adele. Last year I bought her Vogue covers and even her The Face one. But there is something that annoys me: the way how they wanna show her body… it looks like they’re making her waist looks smaller or her hips extremely curvy (in a KK way) on purpose and looks a little bit forced

The makeup is too harsh and styling too commercial. It's lacking her usual glamour

The make-up is reminding me of the influence of Dusty Springfield, sooty eyes in the height of summer, regardless of how harsh the light is, and whether the sheer amount of eyeliner was suitable for the situation. And back then, you weren't photoshopped to filth, so if you had undereye circles, the world saw them.

I think the cover, and editorial are gorgeous.
She photographs so beautifully, and always delivers.

Love her but that's a mess. Looks like she'd got her lips done a day before.

Something about her make-up is bothering me here. It makes her look Zoolander-like.
