It's a head wrap. Let's not turn it into something it is not.

No sky blue, no cheesy fake smile, no insane photoshop! Clean, chic and timeless...
Cortina is the best thing that has happened for this magazine!

I like Gigi but she is not commanding enough for this kind of ed. Meisel can do that with her but here, she does not exhude glamour.

Agreed. I don't find the ed very refreshing, I mean, they've done a similar story with Bella when you think of it.

Wonder if Cortina will remain at Bazaar. Would be a great idea, no more fighting fans on Instagram.

Without jewellery to signal this is expensive minimalism, this looks as glamorous as a cleaner taking a break because they've got a bad back.

The styling reminds me of her WSJ cover shoot few years ago which is way better than that.

Yeah, I think it’s true. But may, June and July will have her finger but she’s not there to close. Who is replacing her?

Very very gimmicky and they aged her a lot in this story. I don't expect this out of 20 something models but out of models who are 40 to 60.

Nice to see GiGi on Glenda’s final cover. I figured it would have been either her or Rihanna on her final cover!

LOL that’s the best it deserves. God, standards are so low these days.

I assume the minimalist layout cover is the subscriber’s cover… And I suspect it’s somewhat a nod to that legendary re-inauguration of Liz and Fabien’s 92 September issue— with its B&W color-palette, sharp graphic lines, just a one-word coverline as a tribute to that issue’s “Enter The Era Of Elegance"….? (But the inclusion of the name “Gigi” as a part of the coverline straightup kills it; everyone knows her face since she’s everywhere. Even with Linda at the imperial height of her reign, editors were restrained and never put her name— nor any Supers’ name, as a part of the coverline. It was always about the fashion and the presentation of fashion first and foremost back then... :sigh:..)

Well that’s it, I’ll buy this.

I’m a sucker for “final issues” / “first issue” of an EICs and/or of a magazine. They mark the end or start of a new era. These have as much value as anniversary/special issues. The collector in me is excited.

The newsstand cover is unmistakeably Glenda Bailey, but is far superior than what we've encountered from the magazine over recent years and actually feels like a fashion magazine cover (which sounds ridiculous when describing Harper's Bazaar). It's simple yet striking and I'm ALL for it.

George Cortina does great job really. The styling I don't mind at all. I sort of imagined if this would have been shot by Meisel and how much better it would have improve because Gigi glows in front his lens and he can brings great emtion. Here it doesn't look bad at all. And by Glenda's standards, this is already beyond great.
