Vanity Fair Bumped Justin Timberlake Cover For Will And Kate

It looks like Vanity Fair might have to send Mr. Timberlake a fruit basket because it turns out he was bumped from the July cover of Vanity Fair. Who took his place? The royal couple, of course. We revealed Will and Kate’s Vanity Fair cover last month: the long-awaited, never-before-seen photo from Mario Testino’s engagement portraits. As much as we love the Prince and Princess, we don’t love the cover — and now we know it wasn’t even the original!
Timberlake’s cover was shot by Norman Jean Roy and the star was profiled by Vanessa Grigoriadis for the issue. Timberlake, who was said to be “very happy with Vanessa’s story and Mr. Roy’s photos,” was shot in a mid-century Americana inspired spread with model-extraordinaire, Lara Stone. Check out a slideshow of his shoot with Stone below; we have to admit, these pictures are pretty incredible. Sexual tension, anyone? That said, we can’t help but think Will and Kate’s cover was the most timely of the two. Now, if only they’d used a different image.
