US Vogue April 2011 : Rihanna by Annie Leibovitz

I think it's fabulous. She is a gorgeous girl, I disagree with whoever said "looking cheap is in her"
I would've loved to see her with short or something edgier hair wise. It would have been a nice juxtaposition with the gown.

The hair has got too much Jessica Rabbit going on.

I laways love when you can see more of a body wearing the dress, instead of a face close up! This cover for US Vogue is epic, and i thought Gaga's was a progress, its sexy, and modern, and i even like her red hair here, fantastic!

I wholeheartedly agree! I love seeing more of the clothing too and I'm thrilled her hair is such a brilliant red. The background is familiar (the Penelope Cruz, Marion Jones, and Gwyneth Paltrow covers had a similar vibe), but I enjoy the photo more for its Herb Ritts quality. But that could just be me, haha... I can't get over how much I adore this cover! ^_^

Its different, don't know its good or bad!...
but Anna should get some credit to use someone different!
and it's now.

Not just you as I thought of the same thing as well.

I love her bright red hair but other than that it's awful. I wish they would have put her in something more structured and sexy. She's always wearing revealing and tacky stuff like this

Did I miss something because I thought that the usual actresses on US Vogue covers are mainstream stars...

 Exactly. I wasn't aware that Vogue was putting independent actresses on it's covers.

Stupid banner, the text on it WILL NOT sell copies. "The 10th Annual Shape Issue?"

Who is she wearing?

Does anyone have a runway image of the dress? I've read a few comments that it was Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana was thrown in too, TIA.

Random Thoughts:
I am upset with myself for my increasing acceptance of that awful hair color

She makes it work, doesn't she?

What a disappointing choice of cover shot, the disappointment only amplified by what the cover could've potentially been with simply a better pose (i.e. undisturbedly beautiful, if not extraordinary).

I dont like the pose, the hair, the backround very repetitive to Annie , the cover look very fake

I have to give credit to Anna for doing something different and really changing the magazine up this year. It's really refreshing to see. Not crazy about the dress and she looks a bit dead in the eyes, but that's just Rihanna. Don't love it, don't hate it. I'm just happy Anna is finally doing something different for US Vogue.

Hmmm, I don't blame the cover pic itself.. She's supposed to be a mermaid on it, right? But it doesn't work in fact and I would expect to see such pic from Maxim or some other male magazine. That looks cheap.

Eww... What is she wearing on the cover?

Zuhair Murad?

I don't mind the hair (it's better than what Rihanna was sporting before) but I wish they had toned down the rest of the cover (dress, letters, etc). Something dark and simple would look really chic. But instead they go over the top with gold and glitter.

The pose reminds me of Naomi Watts in King Kong, but it looks really awkward for the cover.

I absolutely love the cover. Yay for Rihanna, happy she finally got her American Vogue cover.

OMG, US VOGUE made Rihanna as the cover!! Rihanna looks so amazing there, love her dress

Maybe it will look better in HQ but now I don't like it in any aspect.

Oh, I hate it.

Whilst I applaud Rihanna as a musical talent and entertainer, I find the rampant commercialisation of US Vogue tacky and distasteful... what next, Blake Lively for Chanel? ;0)

I'm getting a Jessica Rabbit vibe.
