Thanks so much for starting this thread, Kelles. This is one of the issues which I'm missing in my collection.

The girl with Maggie Rizer looks like Audrey Marnay? Could be wrong, I'm terrible at spotting models, lol. This Maggie really was a force at American Vogue during her heyday.

I'm mad about Jewel's cover. The shot of her in concert reminds me of those Tommy Hilfiger concert ads. I think at the time, at the height of the Spirit success, it must've still been a bit of a surprise for people to see her on Vogue. What I personally found surprising was to see Chris Douglas posing with her. That's such weird move, because she always seemed very private.

Jewel!.. I forgot she even existed!. The music is forgettable but I remember always wanting whatever lipstick she had on.

Healing Powers is so good.. Helmut could get away with so much.. the chapter that hosted that edge in fashion photography was closed for good when he died.

In even more shallow remarks: interesting to see Gisele's waist still visible there. About a year later, it became.. a square . Also, her beach waves and perfect sunburnt color were gorgeous but brunette Gisele was something else.. way more high fashion and unique-looking.

Gisele's "Hit List" is divine.

I wish the Meisel editorial with Jewel had been more interesting. She's beautiful and I don't think the result here did her any justice, nor did it push her in any way, which Meisel's celebrity editorials usually did (a la Courtney Love, for example).
