Identity Politics looks promising! Thanks for the preview, Tia!

 

Great to see Amanda and Vanessa in US Vogue.

 

You're welcome & can't wait to see the whole ed, it seems to be amazing.

 

The covers irks me, not so much the use of Katy Perry but for whatever reason she always seems to be unnecessarily over photo shopped and whether it be the cover or editorial I don't think magazines are using her to full potential as already mentioned. It's quite sleepy looking, I don't think Annie Leibovitz's work is half as good as it use to be, maybe she'll surprise us with the editorial although doubts have to be raised. One thing I would say is that Katy does the styling justice at least.

 

Sorry if it's been mentioned before..

But another cover with a model/celebrity sitting in a field.. I'm over it..

 

^ Better than another cover with a celeb in front of a grey background or in some empty mansion/palace/ballroom.

 

^OK, that was funny! Although I think the grey background ads a bit of class and uniformity to the covers.

Overall, I don't think the editorial is too bad. The colours are nice. But my goodness, her face looks so strange and dopey in the third shot. Yikes...

 

Kasia Struss is not in this issue. That photo is nowhere to be found inside!

The previews of Identity Politics look quite promising. Can't wait to see the full editorial.
Katy's ed is a lot better than the cover. On the cover, the text arrangement is fine, but it's Katy's expression and the backdrop that I don't like about the cover. I don't think that full plant backdrop works great at all. It's boring and underwhelming so I don't understand why Leibovitz keeps using it after for Rihanna.

The Editorial is gorgeous. This has actually turned out to be one of the best covers and spreads of the year so far IMO.
