Okay, let me rephrase what I said earlier: I THINK that the whole thing was shot in the studio, and KINGofVERSAILLES THINKS it was shot on location. Neither of us - excluding Annie Leibovitz and her closest associates, of course! - can know that for sure, even though one of us might claim to.

    Fabulous cover! Bravo Anna...
No comment on the terrible post-production situation of the ed. That cover alone makes me want to buy the magazine...

This is silly! Quit while you’re ahead, girl! It was shot on location at Vasquez Rocks park near Los Angeles. Fact.

I LOVE THIS! The image is very striking despite of its minimal layout.

I've never seen any of her movies because  , superheroes......BUT, during her come up she had an interview on Ellen and she just seemed so well adjusted, like a real person.
I see Van Meter wrote her feature in this issue so we'll soon find out if 'Imagine' was just a misunderstanding or if she's an official citizen of LAla land.

Regardless of her acting or imagine video, this is the best Vogue cover I’ve seen in years!

Reminds me a little of Sandra Bullock's last cover.

Not sure if people are actually reading the caption. This was shot MONTHS before COVID-19 "began to take hold in the U.S." and yet some are commenting that they will boycott this and Vogue should book inspirational actresses and not tone-deaf ones. I mean how in the world can Anna foresee that Imagine video months before it even came out?

The level of st*pidity. That's what you get when keyboard warriors become hyper SJWs

I don’t even get why the Imagine thing blew up. It was kinda d*mb and I didn’t find it inspiring, but it didn’t harm anyone. Hardly something to get canceled over.

She is wearing Tom Ford Fall 2020 in the editorial, which was presented on February 8, so while it was shot before the pandemic hit the US etc., they didn't shoot this ages ago either.

I think it blew up because it showed the contradistinction between celebrities donating money and celebrities merely singing in their mansions (words not mine)

However, just because these celebrities sang doesn't mean they didn't donate. The problem with people nowadays is that if you don't post that you donated, you didn't. Everything must be broadcasted.

Neither did they shoot this AFTER the Imagine video (posted March 18, 2020). She's being dragged to filth because of that alleged tone deaf video.

Vogue staffers started working from home by March 21 (as per Instagram). And Gal Gadot shot that video while she was on her self-imposed quarantine.

The issue closed days before that video, and even if it closed after, they could not have possibly had the time to reshoot everything. The imagine video is not a weighty reason to change the cover star days before closing. The backlash was a matter of opinion. Its not as if she said something racist/sexist/homophobic that would warrant severe condemnation and loss of platform.

Love this cover! Giving me a little bit of Penelope Cruz' US Vogue March 2001 vibe.

Be let’s be honest, IMAGINE would’ve been a great cover line! Y’all may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.

Doesn't the May issue usually coincide with the Met Gala? Does anyone have thoughts on how this relates to the now canceled Met theme/party?

    Pretty cover, tedious editorial.
