This cover had to be a tribute to her 93 Sept cover...

As much as I'm still not fond of her— she is a great model. Frankly, she was so beyond fortunate to have worked at a time when the creatives— from designers to photographers, were all pushing models to live out all these larger-than-life personas and fantasies to create such iconic imagery that remain the standards of a HF world to this day.

(Again… the Annie story is achingly supreme. I weep at what’s become of her work.)

What a sublime issue. So rich, and oozing talent from every single page. The absolute epitome of American Vogue's glory days!

I vividly remember getting a good deal on eBay some years ago now and pouring over every last page - from front to back. Linda Evangelista's cover feature is stellar! Not one bad photograph, each just as wonderful as the last. I have read and reread Evangelista's interview umpteen times and still, after all these years, find myself completely immersed and in absolute awe.

Nadja Auermann's story by Steven Meisel also makes me go weak at the knees. An issue I will treasure forever and ever.

Those campaigns… :weeps: They were a film’s worth of production in just how cinematic each brand’s creative vision conjured. An intense education in itself. The Donna Karan and the Dolce ones are epic.

(Needless to say, the Prada one was Meisel’s.)

Nope, he started regularly shooting for Prada in 2002. This season was shot by Martina Hoogland Ivanow.
