*yawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwn* What a borefest!!!! The only piece I find remotely appealing or interesting is the above beige strapless gown. This is certainly NOT what I was expecting, in a very bad way. It's as if they tried to tackle as many trends as possible- animal prints, nudes, black lace-without any whim or care for what the final outcome was. There is nothing remotely Valentino about this collection. It instead looks like an amolgamation of different Paris designers. And it it's too bad because I actually really loved the Valentino Fall 2009 collection they put together- the brilliant furs, the glamorous gowns in gorgeous hues- and was expecting something on the same level for their couture collection. But instead they delivered this dull, colorless, personality-lacking blur. Quite disappointing. I actually preferred their last couture collection to this one, and that one wasn't even that great to begin with! Seems that Chiuri and Piccioli do a MUCH better job on their ready-to-wear. Judging from this collection, they better step up their game, and PRONTO, or they may meet the same fate as Facchinetti.
