Valentino Haute Couture F/W 09.10 Paris

Ok so at this rate they will be fired as well because this is good and better than original Valentino and such a different direction. Let's see how long they last.

Yeah... just like Alessandra.
They should just bring Valentino back and let him design until he drops dead.

I'm waiting for the full thing. But I feel like it is a mish-mash of other fantastic designers. Last season was a poor Valentino copy, this feels a bit McQueen, even a bit Rodarte...

Yeah it does look a little McQueen. I quite like it, but I still feel a bit undecided.

Given what I see so far I will give the designers some slack considering it's quite a different interpretation of Valentino

I agree with FugAponLa. It looks McQueen-ish, not so Valentino at all...
where is the red?!?

This looks fantastic.
I imagined they would slaughter this collection like last season.

I simply cannot wait for the bride photo!

*yawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwn* What a borefest!!!! The only piece I find remotely appealing or interesting is the above beige strapless gown. This is certainly NOT what I was expecting, in a very bad way. It's as if they tried to tackle as many trends as possible- animal prints, nudes, black lace-without any whim or care for what the final outcome was. There is nothing remotely Valentino about this collection. It instead looks like an amolgamation of different Paris designers. And it it's too bad because I actually really loved the Valentino Fall 2009 collection they put together- the brilliant furs, the glamorous gowns in gorgeous hues- and was expecting something on the same level for their couture collection. But instead they delivered this dull, colorless, personality-lacking blur. Quite disappointing. I actually preferred their last couture collection to this one, and that one wasn't even that great to begin with! Seems that Chiuri and Piccioli do a MUCH better job on their ready-to-wear. Judging from this collection, they better step up their game, and PRONTO, or they may meet the same fate as Facchinetti.

i LOVE some pieces. But i can't say this is a great collection.

Edita looks the best! beautiful!

I'm not feeling this yet..

So when did McQueen take over the Couture line.

This just screams "try hard". This is not Valentino.
