Valentino Menswear S/S Milan

The first full menswear collection we've had since the pandemic. It looks so repulsively dorky though...

It’s a very inoffensive premium department store collection. I find especially his menswear to be devoid of any Valentino DNA, which isn’t so weird as it has no relevant history in menswear. But I just dont see how the guy he’s presenting is aspirational? You’re gonna look like a total victim wearing this stuff. We need Valentino to have a bit more Roman sexiness and elegance.

Premium ? I am having a hard time remembering it is not a good effort from Zara, spiced with a pinch of Prada x Raf gimmicks - hello bermudas with socks and trainers.
Also how long we will have to endure those rockstuds on every shoes ?

beautiful and wearable clothes and bags, but it didn't bring anything innovative or new. where's the story, the dream and the allure of Valentino? nothing that we don't see elsewhere. disappointed :(

The show was on Friday, but we were all missing Sabato (Saturday, en.) already ;)

it is inoffensive but I am coveting some pieces.

Some okay pieces here and there. Harmless and despite the use of tonals, it isn't an overload of them.

It just feels stuck in it's vision. Bit of a reversion back to the Undercover crossover from Fall 2019 without the guts so it winds up looking very "concept store" fashion.

I heard in passing that this is going to be his last collection.
If he is leaving Valentino, then I think the Couture show in Chantilly, which is in just over 2 weeks, will be his last. It wouldn't make sense for him to leave so close to a show like that.

This collection looks like when you write a very good essay for the class, by mistake you delete the archive and you need to present the only and the worst you can remember you'd wrote

I love the idea that the collection starts with the Shirt & Ties and various way to styling.
#24 #33 #41 are wonderful!
Some piece remind me old Prada & Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton
