An interplay of light and shadow: soft, captivating, and here for only a moment. For the Fireflies Spring Summer 2026 campaign, envisioned by Alessandro Michele and captured by Willy Vanderperre, light drifts through empty rooms, touching garments and echoing against stone, silk and shadow. In this space, silhouettes feel instinctive, gestures unguarded, instilling a sense of hope through fleeting, luminous moments.

Oh my god this is so Maria Grazia & Pierpaolo coded, it's literally the Autumn Winter 2011 campaign by David Sims but with Michele's clothes, which also look Maria Grazia & Pierpaolo coded. They are clearly (desperately) trying to recapture their lost clientele. Wow.

Finally something decent from Willy!

Great! Finally some good food!
but the important guests already left the table and the palazzo lol.....this won't safe Valentino as the key product categories are not addressing the problem the creative director created with his gucci 2.0 revival fatigue.

they need to find what resonates with a big crowd and the products to feed it, once they have that attention back and i still don't see that.

a few evening dresses in empty Palazzo without crazy styling evoking classim is not enough.

we see how hard JWA dior and Blazy Chanel is pushing new bags styles to make and see what sticks with the big crowds buying into acc that drive sales ...one ad like this is not enough to push products or an image of a new valentino

its a bit too late the couture showed that he is still the ringmaster at the circus.

his gucci worked because it resonated with a big mass appeal/pop crowd and had for gucci new/novelty items to feed it.

there is no viral valentino other than the devil wears prada with an old /renewed product.

this won't last.

it is a good campaign that instantly reminded me of the ones by Deborah Turbeville (and despite hating to compare, still far more superior).

I love the first pic… would’ve never guessed it’s Alessandro Michele, which is good.

This house is dead. They are desperate at a level no one can imagine. Someone I know joined the brand recently (not very smart of her) and its being so so so tough. I think it will go bankrupt.

Very Sarah Moon

VERY underrated photographer ugh. The Armani campaigns these days and now this remind me so much of Sarah's work.

I wish Sarah and Sølve were more active. Their takes on fashion photography are so unique. Would totally take them over autopilot Meisel/Vanderperre/Leibovitz.

So the goal is to be the italian Chanel :) under the new ceo and maybe Alessandro Michele will continue to stay :) By 2029 LOL

Vogue
April 16,” Kering CEO Luca de Meo told analysts at the group’s annual earnings conference on Tuesday

When asked to provide an update on this deal, de Meo, who called Valentino the “Italian Chanel”, said: “ I think it is in everyone’s interest for Valentino to return to an Olympic-level form, and Riccardo [Bellini, the CEO who was appointed in August] is a competent person with very clear ideas.

My priority was to postpone this phase of the deal because in 2026, we would not have had the capacity to absorb it. This gives me time to build the organization. As a minority shareholder, we hope that everything goes well and that [Valentino creative director] Alessandro Michele makes his way. I see competent and dedicated leadership in Riccardo, who is a pro.
