Vanity Fair October 2009 : Jacqueline Kennedy by Jacques Lowe

^ But look at last 3 covers. Where're living people?

It seems like Vanity Fair does a Kennedy cover every year. I could understand having a Ted Kennedy cover story, but is there really anything new to learn about Jackie?

I love how the background blurs and she standsout

I love it so fresh... and beautiful...and natural...

heath ledger, farrah fawcett, michael jackson and now jackie kennedy? seems like living people are no longer interesting.

^I agree, it's getting repetetive.

Look at today's stars....of course the dead will take over. They don't fuss, they're already icons, they aren't depressingly devoid of all talent, they don't look like over-tanned sticks with giant heads....

The dead has a lot to offer!

^^ iluvjeisa i can't disagree with you. while i typed my post i was thinking "well, at least it isn't lady gaga". although i still think there are many interesting people alive, the "stars" aren't that interesting indeed.

Maybe it's because I'm not American, but I've always had a really hard time understanding the value of the Kennedys. Okay, I can understand the importance of ones who were involved in politics, etc. but I just find it hard to "get" the fascination around them.

Vanity Fair is most certainly fascinated by the Upper East Side blue-blood American royalty WASPs... Astors, Kennedys... It is kind of silly to put her on the cover since they will have to put Ted again... but since these issues are prepared months ahead, they could not know both Eunice and Ted would die within this month.

We could read Jackie's sob story any month of the year. I am not sure if it deserved a cover. I am sure someone over at VF is knocking his head on the wall right about now...
