There is still something missing, but i can get on board with his, just because its a beautiful portrait of a beautiul woman.
Theyre not even trying, are they?
This is so boring.
Looks like an October 1998 cover to me
Looks like a cover from the 80s promoting a movie about a hard-hitting female journalist. Daryl Hannah would have been in the running, except she'd be deemed too ditzy, so they went with a brunette, because that felt more 'New York'. Trousersuits by Armani, blazers by Ralph Lauren.
She’s playng a young RBG in the film, and it’s perfect.
Felicity is so beautiful. I actually really love this cover, although I do agree that it’s still missing a spark. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it just falls short, same as last month. It’s still a gorgeous portrait though and, depending on how the feature looks, I’ll probably pick this issue up.
I really enjoy the layout here, I hope they stick with it because they’ve been a bit all over the place for the past couple of months. The typography feels fresh and clean but also old school at the same time.
Yes, can't wait to see the movie, the trailer looks great. I do have to crack up at VF having another cover star with a brooch showing.
I'm on the fence. Not sure if I like it or not. Felicity vaguely reminds me of Carre Otis here and I like that. But I'm not sure about the background.
tigerrouge hit the nail on the head !
It's not a bad cover image overall I suppose, but still quite forgettable. Also, I really liked some of Mark Seliger's work, particularly for Vogue Italia, but that pre-dates 2010...for a Conde title to be choosing him to shoot the cover really reeks of "well he's the best we could get". At least it's not Schorr I suppose.
She's overdue for a British Vogue cover, nice to see her here.
Great shot, maybe they need to use Seliger more for their covers. I see the Otis reference as well, but overall with the new art direction (again???) it looks very dated. But it's the first cover under the new EIC which I like.
At least one of the advantages having Radhika in charge means we no longer see younger starlets styled as pin-ups.
'VF's annual best-dressed', lol, interesting! I'm sure it will come heavily Wintour inspired.
The VF best dressed list isn’t just the usual suspects. There are some unexpecteds.
Sounds promising, or? Sorry, not sure how to read unexpecteds, lol. As long as it's not just made up of Anna's Army, I'm good!
Nice get to have the "Notorious RBG" writer Irin Carmon for the cover story
I like that they left some skin texture so she looks her age. This 90s trend photography (that I hate so much atm) really works best with celebrities imo, I find myself really liking this cover. Still something is missing, as many pointed out... perhaps it´s the layout?
That's a beautiful portrait of a beautiful woman.
I think she's a great actress and I love her. Looking forward to seeing her in RBG.
Tbh, this is probably my fav cover since Radical took over. Finally someone whose profile I'm actually interested in reading.
As someone else pointed out, she should cover British Vogue. Right after Tilda Swinton.
At first I hated it but the more I've looked at it, I've come to love the whole newspaper vibe the cover is giving due to the art direction, and especially when matched with the smart, reporter-esque styling. Felicity Jones has photographed beautifully here!

stunning cover, finally something good from this new era
