I'am in love with this seasons obsession with velvet. Especially the shoes and boots. These are from Petit-Peton.

My favorite velvets are Louboutin, these pictured from Neiman Marcus:

I love velvet footwear - they are definitely an idiot proof way to incorporate this luxurious fabric into your daily ensemble and to get you ready for fall! :flower:

I bought velvet shoes too (posted in new Gothic thread). You posted some really interesting ones, highheels ... I think the grey/lavender ones are my favorite.

Wow, I truly love the majority of these.
I'm quite shocked that I don't any velvet shoes. I'm sure something can be done about that though. :p

Velvet is one of those 'recycled' interests; it was big a few years ago, then fell out of favor.

As I remember they were very difficult to keep clean, and of course wearing them in rain or snow is out of the question; you would have to carry another pair of street shoes on bad weather days.

These are the first pair of clogs that i have seen made by Charles David. The other pair are by Calvin Klein. Pic from Zappos.

I don't like the posted ones, but I do like the idea of velvet shoes. I'd probably ruin them if I had a pair though :(

^ That's my concern! I think they're GORGEOUS, but I worry about how often I'll be able to wear them. Much like suede or fabric shoes.

For those that own them, how do you care for them and do you just avoid wearing them in the rain and such? Thanks :flower:

I own lots of velvet flats and a pair of wedges. I have to admit, I do avoid wearing them in the rain. But my shoe guy has this solution that seems to clean off just about any stain if I do get them a bit dirty. I've worn some black velvet wedges in the heavy rain and I just left them to dry out and they look fine, so maybe dark colours are safer.

I just bought a fab Prada pair from ebay in UK, in a beautiful ink blue velvet. I always think of velvet as a bit christmassy!, but on shoes, its just enough to keep up with the winter trend without looking too fussy :)

I didn't think I would ever buy velvet shoes, but when I found these Armani at a Neiman Marcus Last Call for 65% off, I couldn't say no. I'll just be careful with them and not wear them if it's raining.:D
