Versace F/W 12.13 : Elza L, Dmitriy, Kacey, & Philipp by Mert and Marcus

Why can't menswear get the same setting as womenswear? So unfair.

I think the menswear setting is just as fitting as the womenswear setting, they compliment eachother in a sense.

Gosh, what a campaign. I don't know the girl but she blew me away! If all the campaign would be like this one .... :)

Judging by Versace campaigns from previous years, which were never anything outstanding to me, I did not expect anything great.
This season's runway show was not mind blowing to me either, in fact it was terrible and tacky looking.
I'm definitely surprised by this campaign, because this looks catchy and interesting.
The dark and slightly gothic touch about this campaign represents the collection in a way, which might attract more people to it. At least that is what it did to me.
Definitely a great improvement for Versace from the last 2-3 years of campaigns.

Hmm..i like the look and what they're going for. But I am a bit bothered by the doubled shadows in the menswear..

I like the campaign. What's disappointing to me is that Versace is behaving like a young brand struggling to find it's identity. The campaigns and the models are constantly changing and even the collections in terms of aesthetic...

is this serious...? after last season with gisele, it's so bad

I agree last season was beyond great, not knocking this one down though.

The men's images look givenchy-esq not feeling this male cast. Nothing screams Versace's sexyness. Too dark for Versace. Perfect for editorial.

Even though black and white images do nothing for me, concerning advertising, I do admire this. Actually, I'm head-over-heels for Mert & Marcus' vision for Versace. I cannot wait to see more, and to witness more of Elza proving herself.

I'm just in love with the mood this campaign imbibes. Perfectly suited for F/W. Definitely much better than last season's with Gisele which was a disappointment to me.

Here's my beef with this campaign (the womenswear at least):
The background looks so cheap. It's as if a junior high drama club built a set out of cardboard, painted it, and then through some chains for added effect.
I actually love the model, even though I have no idea who she is, and think the hair and make-up is superb but that darn set makes this whole thing drab.

this is such a downgrade from the last season...too dark and pretty awful

Wow, I really love this. Elza has quite the presence in front of the camera, and this campaign is so much more visually interesting than last season's eyesore, even if the modelling is less spectacular than Gisele's.

This doesn't scream Versace at all, but then again I'm not quite sure where the label are headed anymore, so it's no shocker I suppose.
These pics certainly reflect the collection well I think, and although I only know this Elza girl from the Prada show, she translates quite well.
I think if the images had been a little sharper, even in B&W, they would look a lot better.

No matter how stark and striking the campaign, I fear it will be quickly forgotten and result in low sales. I associate Versace with sex and glamor and these ads are much too gothic for me.

Keep Versace's target audience in mind as well ...
