Versace F/W 2025.26 by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

The collection was always inevitably going to drag the campaign down. Donatella went out with a FLOP. A shame because the cast and photography is quite striking and some of the best in years.

It's so sad to see how cringe Kate Moss has become. She seems so desperate to remind everyone that she's "still here" and the industry simply can't just "replace her". More power to her, but she's doing THE MOST with all the pouting and posing.

Years ago, articles kept asking "are the Rolling Stones too old to tour?"

Well, there was nothing to stop them, people always like a bit of nostalgia, the members were regarded as legends, and as a band, the Rolling Stones didn't see the need to radically reinvent themselves for any new era. If they were going to be handed a small fortune for turning up and doing the same thing over and over again, they were happy to take the money.

This is a farewell. The history is above tastes and history of Moss and Versace is linked

No Naomi? I'm tired of her, but it's a weird absence.

Photos lack movement, but the group shot is beautiful.

Where is that blonde model with big lips from the early 10s? Forgot her name. Donatella liked her.

Even though Kate looks older and different now, I do love seeing her. I always loved her. Her face is so gorgeous and photogenic.

Always here for Amber, Claudia and Kristen (+\- Kate M).

I’m sick of Poly (its personal as well), Mica, Anok.

Love Liu.

Looks like a look book, and the b&w shots throw even that off balance.
Should have been Madonna and Meisel. They would have ate this.
Donatella goes out with a whimper...

I know this casting is supposed to represent different generations of models during her tenure but I wish she went with more solid choices 'cause some of the picks here seem out of place. Could've tapped into Gisele and Carmen again, for example. But oh well.

from early 2010s models, i'd like to see Lindsey Wixson or Abbey Lee instead of Saskia🫣 Mica looks stunning.
And happy (surprised) to see Mila.

Despite the all-star cast, I'm disappointed with the end result. The images feel flat, lifeless, static, and one-dimensional. There's no depth, no nothing...

"Optimised for digital" is probably the polite way I'd describe so much of our current fashion imagery.

Good luck to future generations having this to look back on for nostalgia purposes.

The most beautiful thing about this campaign, besides the group photo with the historic metal mesh dresses, are the photos with the many dedications that each model has autographed describing their experience with the Maison Versace and that Donatella is sharing on her Instagram profile. For the rest, it is a choreographic collection that needed a less schematic setting, I don't know if they will create a parallel campaign as Donatella has done in recent years to increase sales, since in september everything will probably be wiped out by the arrival of Dario Vitale...

:flower:

I just knew Claudia was going to be part of this. looks great! (I'm not crazy about her posing on the group shot (the arms and head) but loving the commanding stance on the solo shot. hopefully there's more!)

also, a bit of a weird/ unexpected cast... and I was definitely expecting something even more iconic.
Looking at her recent work, I think Claudia prefers chin up to give the best angle.
