Versace for H&M

I seriously hate most of it, just like a few of the black pieces, but there are either mistakes on the vogue pages, or the prizing is really really weird... just compare the black short sleaved dress, it's a lot more expensive in € while the other things I just checked are rather cheaper (eg. the black-golden skirt).

the men's collection is better imo. i love the palm print sweater but still too much for h&m..

Yea, despite the undisputed 'loudness' I reckon this will sell faster than the other collections due to everyone being familiar with Versace. I actually quite like those palm leggings too in a weird and wonderful way...

when will the official item + pricelist go online?

i'm surprised no one made comparisons yet with the Versace pieces these are based on. i see S/S 09...

they are doing the bracelet system this time as well.

excerpt from nypost

"It’s the first time Donatella has looked back to the past — her ‘best of’ collection is being brought back with a twist.”
Jennifer Ward isn’t talking about a costly new haute-couture line dreamed up by the Versace designer. Instead, she’s discussing Versace for H&M — a new mass-market collection showcasing the brand’s sexy signature touches that launches Nov. 19 and will set you back just $110 to $283 per item.
While the line’s debut remains weeks away, H&M anticipates such a crush of shoppers that it has devised a waiting system befitting a backstage visit with a rock star. “There is such a huge and amazing response,” says Ward, H&M’s public relations director. “We are now doing a bracelet system where you line up, get a bracelet and come back at a specific time to shop [a] specific designer area.”

Quite a few pieces seem to have changed since they were initially shot. I don't know if anyone else has noticed but there seems to be quite a lot of tweaking going on...

the leather dress Donatella wore seems much nicer than the one made for retail...

yep, you are right. here's a photo comparison (dailymail)

there were also some sketched items that we saw in the preview video that are missing...

i'm personally excited now that i see the pieces. only wish that some of the stuff were cheaper, i mean it is h&m and the quality is not going to be the best. but i guess you pay for the name behind it all. can't wait nonetheless!

yeah, quite a few changes here and there. when the collection was announced, they even promised floorlength gowns. the floral print silkdress from the initial preview shots disappeared.

a lot of pieces didn't seem to have made it out of the sample room.

and with the prototypes shot for magazines being slightly different than the official promo pics, it makes me wonder when those shots must have been taken, since production must have taken quite a while.

i'm also surprised that for the first time, there's no trenchcoats in a collection! only because Lanvin's didn't sell well? i believe the zebra print one was massively popular, while the silk one was gorgeous, but expensive, especially with the unfinished seams which no one understood.

i they actually show donatella's version of the leather dress in the Ad (at 1:10) instead of the actual less studded version.

thats not quite legal.

they're seriously fcuking around a lot. Abbey's dress from the lookbook isn't the same as the dress shown in the promo pics.

if you compare the detailing in the middle and the side, it's clearly different

p24

Abbey's version seems to be the simplest, with Donatella's version being the most complex and the one in the promo pic being in the middle. i don't know why they went through so many prototypes and even shot the lookbook with prototypes which are not going into production.

that said....

i want that fcuking set of the commercial. i wanna live in it. that and the Coco Mademoiselle set.

Alright, in total, I want 18 pieces. Mostly dresses, the leather jacket and alot of accessories. Now to calculate the damage.

Of course Donatella is not wearing the same dress we can all buy at H&M. She's Donatella Versace, huh?! :D
