My review for Versace S/S '04:
I think this collection was a safe, lazy one for Versace. Her classic prints that opened the show were seen in past seasons already and she did those white suits again as if there is nothing else to do. The godess dresses, from July's couture collection, were incorporated in R-T-W, seemed like the only freshest idea in the collection, but the silhouette she chose for those were highly perdicatble and some (the two-piece gowns) seemed a little retrograde. Not my style, but quite a dissapointment for some because alot were exepecting a fresh jolt of color and shape as seen in last Spring's show.

    so true centric ;)

i had to go carefully through the whole collection, must be the most boring season ever for Versace. Their prints are pure 'german catalogue' material so very un-inspired and 'for the old lady', i wonder whats wrong with Donatella's team..

They look like they're playing it very, very safe...
Bright and wearable, I can imagine the gowns being popular for celebs on red carpets and all.

sorry for the childish reply but....ewwwww!!

I can see the Escada reference. Too bad I hate both Versace and Escada :p

It's so sugary sweet that I feel like I just had one of those atrocious cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery. I wish designers would ease up on the swishy pastels this season. I honestly don't know one person that likes to dress in metallic lavender and pale pinks 24/7. Personally, I detest the idea. This collection was Donatella at her worst.

Thanks for the pictures, however! :flower:

my colour predictions were spot on! i knew dontella would go in this direction

as Centric said.....its very Escada......and also reminds me of the 'hippie gucci' phase in 96

the clothes although wearable, werent too attractive because of the printing being TOO bright, even for s/s

the inspiration for this collection seems to have come a LOT from their 2 HC presentations this year. there are very clear similarities in structuring and draping.

the footwear was absolutely HORRENDOUS.....i was shocked especially seing as the a/w03 shoes were VERY beautifully made....these seem somehow disfigured

enough already of donatella printing herself over the clothes......first mens t-shirts, then bandana's......now womenswear t-shirts.........what next? bed covers :ninja:

Bravo on the guests of honour though.......Beyonce was an obvious choice.....but mariah :innocent: well.......a diva in need of some help......Donatella's always on hand
