Victoria Beckham F/W 2025.26 Paris

Why does she have this annoying urge to be conceptual when her concepts are too weak to begin with? There are nice and wearable pieces, rather anonymous, but ok-ish, and they're mixed with so many looks that just can't work! She should have focused on commercial pieces, because it's Victoria Beckham, nobody's expecting any experiments from her. And don't get me started with the bags, especially the fake Bottega's Kalimero shoppers.

The parchment roll gimmick adapted to the clothes was not a good idea.
She really wants to be avantgarde or even the Row now. It's funny and tragic at the same time.

well said. she's at her best when she designs for herself; people go to her line because of her style, her persona. PLAY ON THAT lady; you got a built in market. don't be something you're not.

Great clothes mixed with utter silliness. She's trying to ride a Wave and it's not necessary. Be yourself it's the most important thing of a great fashion design.

Totally agree nobody who buys her clothes or walked into a store it's thinking that she's JW. All of those conceptual peace will fall flat in the store nobody would care the critics don't care the fans don't care. What people want from her is an uppity sense of luxury. new money disguised as old money that's what she is herself and that's what she should offer that's what people want from her.

The color palette is a bit too restrained. Some of the looks tiptoe around surprise, but don't really deliver. The silhouettes are OK, but some looks hide the models underneath. The gown in scarlet is very good! I am missing more texture play. No accessories worth talking about.

I must admit that Victoria Beckham is my guilty pleasure. I buy the clothes, actually enjoy the clothes, would never claim it as one of my favorite brand even though I buy the clothes and a lot of my girlfriends are surprised everytime they ask « where does it come from » and I say « VB ».
She has replaced Stella McCartney in my closet of guilty pleasure.

However, her runway shows never make sense to me and are never really enjoyable.

Her brand is a contemporary brands. The clothes are really well made, well cut at a decent price. I don’t know if it has to be creative but it’s good enough.
I always feel like she has a complex or something and therefore tries to force her nature and be conceptual for no reason and with no added value just to justify the fact that she shows at FW.

And that’s maybe the difference with Stella. Stella is aware of the biais people have towards her name and her brand and just designs stuff. Yes it’s sometimes very derivative but it never feels like she has to prove something.

The irony with VB is that the pieces that shines are the ones that have that great commercial appeal. A great parka, a good jumpsuit, the gowns, the blazers.

Instead of investing time and money in a show like this, it would be nicer to present the collection through a lookbook and shoot a campaign involving some big names: it would make much more sense and would generate much more buzz.. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad or unwatchable, it's just a very forgettable show with too weak a point of view.
