The I'm Fine bag

What's Up? I'm Fine
Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren are furthering their charge into the already crowded accessories market, launching a collection of handbags this spring with Italian manufacturing company Gibò.
The Dutch duo behind the eccentric label Viktor & Rolf currently manufacture a shoe line available at their own boutiques and at Bloomingdale's in the United States, but the bags are expected to broaden the designers' avant-garde tastes to appeal to a larger market.
Horsting and Snoeren worked in tandem with Gibò accessories director Marina Pizzuto on the inaugural collection, which features five styles in silk satin, patent leather, lizard, woven raffia, and textured kidskin. The collection, which may premiere on the runway on Tuesday, will wholesale from approximately $600 to $1,000.
"Each bag was named by the designers themselves and is meant to mimic a conversation," Pizzuto said. To wit, the chic arm accessories are named What's Up, I'm Fine, Just A Moment, and Good Evening.
The bags will be manufactured in a conservative palette of black, white, brown, and pink. The I'm Fine bag is a drawstring style that is pulled together by a chain linked with the duo's signature bows. The What's Up round-frame bag features the designer's classic brand seal. And Just A Moment is a framed piece that features a snap closure comprised of two metal "flowerbombs" from their perfume.
