Vince Camuto Dies at 78

Vince Camuto, a longtime fixture in the fashion and accessories businesses, died at his home today at age 78. The cause of death could not be learned. Camuto was one of the pioneering founders of the Nine West footwear line along with business partner Jerome Fisher. In recent years, he has expanded dramatically and built a multibillion-dollar empire consisting of a number of brands across a wide range of categories, as well as his own concept stores. Memorial Service Set for Vince Camuto.

A memorial service will be held for Vince Camuto, chief creative officer and chief executive officer of the Camuto Group, at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola at 980 Park Avenue in New York on Feb. 5 at 10 a.m.
Camuto, 78, died Wednesday at his Greenwich, Ct. home of cancer. A private funeral service will be held Tuesday.

He had a gift for understanding where majority of consumers could afford a shoe and made that.
