Have you actually ever heard him sing live? I haven't. I highly doubt he does. 85% of Russian "pop stars" do NOT sing live. It's no secret, either.

I have no idea how he's going to make it in the US if he doesn't even sing live.

I've also heard rumours that it's not his actual voice, it is altered with a computer. So, I have no idea. Additionally, he's been singing embarrassingly crappy songs at various events in Russia, amongst those ceaseless living dead singers such as Pugacheva.

Can you tell I'm anti-Russian POP music?

Russian Stars?I'm not familiar with them very much i admit.
all i can remember is the "TATU".Although i don't like them very much.

maybe u think that i'm a faithful fan of vitas.Actually,I was surprised about his voice..
and also have lots of doucts on his lots of ways.

But i admit his face really enchants me.

some people further doubt that he's a "Castrato".
Rumor said that he was castrated as he was 6 in order to remain the child-like voice.
Also there are more imaginable rumors like"He had got a branchia!""He's an alien"...etc.
I think they are the agent's marketing ways to promote Vitas into the star level.
His agent is good at advertizing the singers.

I haven't heard his live,but some pals that have gone to the concert that he has
in Russia.According to their words,they think the stage equipments aren't very well..and the perfomance style they don't admire..(maybe they aren't russian so they
are not so familiar with it)

Many Russian stars don't sing live ...i have also known that..and it's heard that lots of singer are too exaggerate?
Vitas' trend has already spread through China and Taiwan through e mail.
People there are amazed about his voice.They started to try to google Vitas and
has already develope many fans even through he's never introduced to the public officially.

Well, being Ukrainian and being very familiar with the pop scene in Russia..I'm not surprised that your friends weren't impressed with the stage setting. The music scene in Russia overall is highly upsetting.

I, too, find him to be enchanting in his concerts (look-wise) but as soon as I hear the playback behind him and see his lip-synching..I'm immediately turned off.

Vitas's voice is incredible, if not humanly impossible. Even if it is his falsetto, it is incredibly strong, and powerful, not mentioning the clarity. He has perfect control of his vocal capability, and this is astounding for someone so young. Vitas is also a great performer, with a style of his own; the man is a true artist who always thrives to new heights. Vitas is big in Russia, and in China. Some says he might visit the US in 2008.

BTW, Vitas's voice is real. In a lot of performances, he changed the tone, or stopped singing, to prove that he's not lip-singing. There are also performances when he walked out and sang without even using the microphone and you can hear his voice so beautifully!!! Fans also report that people would approach him at autograph signing and asked him to sing, and he actually hit those pitches. His voice is so amazing that skeptics refuse to believe that it is real. But we have heard of people eating glass, a genius musician at age 9 (Mozart?), why can't we accept the possibility that a legend is here? This guy is amazing, a true artist! He completely devotes to his performing. It's nice to know this generation can witness the rise of someone such as Vitas.

If you take vocal lessons, you will probably be even more impressed with Vitas (I do, so you can guess my expression when first heard him). People should accept that Vitas is unique, and a genius. (A musician, a composer, a singer, an actor, a designer) It makes me upset that people keep questioning his authenticity, and he has to prove it again and again. We should not doubt this wonderful capability, rather to enjoy and treasure it!
