Someone once told me the ranking system on Models.com is based on editorials/campaigns and nothing else because I always wondered why Vlada was so low at 31. If I look at all the models in there now they all have campaigns for 2009 or 2010 that are probably bigger than any of vlada's.

I think how they calculate the ranking is stupid anyway they should also take into account the number of shows the model walks IMO. That would give an even more accurate view of who the biggest models are right now.

Really annoys me that Vlada doesn't get more campaigns, do people not know that in forums etc she is one of the most popular (if not THE most popular) models there is!!

^ yeah, i find it very weird as well that she hasn't gotten any campaigns this
season even editorials, to think that she was quite ubiquitous on the
runways this Spring.

and yes, MDC should also consider runway count for their Top50 list. it's just
unfair. and ugh, that list is just horribly innaccurate. i used to check on that so
much. but they've lost all credibility for me when they booted out my fave models

I think we have to accept that Vladas best time is over.

She is still a great model, my favorite by far. There are so many young and fresh models now, looking younger and fresher than she does.

All that change of hair color is a sign she tries to get more attention, but she did not succeed.

Hope we still we see a lot of her for some years.

Maybe perhaps she will have a comeback???

It seems an awful shame to say a model's best time is over when they are only 22. I guess that's the way of the industry however.

In the evolution of a model's career they must transition from tons of runway shows when they are younger into more commercial work as they get older. Vlada is still immensely popular on the runway (maybe not as much as she used to be) but the big money lies in the blue-chip campaigns. Maybe she's at a transition point and needs to target herself more fully at that.

I think the only designer who really realises how special Vlada Roslyakova is, is Christian Lacroix. I have never seen another model who captivates me as much as her. I look at all the models that have come before her and all the new ones coming up and none of them 'do' it for me as much as she does.

I just hope the industry will start to see in her what I see in her and she experiences the greatest gift a model can possess, longevity.

i can't believe she's off the MDC's list. I checked the list and, ugh, some who made it made me hurl vomit (figuratively) on my keyboard. I really don't get it. she's still a great model but maybe MDC has its own crooked, twisted explanation for this.

i hope she gets more work this Fall. and yeah i hafta agree that Lacroix
really stood up for Vlada through his runway seasons. it's just so sad he's
not present anymore, especially that HC is just a week away oh well.

I'm afraid I think your right. I really hope for a comeback. That's why I want Gemma's comeback. So she can bring the doll look back.

superfashion does bring up a point. Vlada is not included in some of the recent group model editorials and it kinda sucks.

She needs to change her hair color to something that isn't blonde. Besides, that's not the color of the upcoming season.
