Vogue China December 2011 : Zhou Xun by Solve Sundsbo

Gosh no, I don't like it already, it looks cheap à la Vogue Taiwan. Where's the class Chinese Vogue is known for? Both the pose and facial expression and the dress look inexpensive. Their November cover didn't wow me either. Here the grey being the main color vibe from the image and the pink masthead don't go well in my opinion. They needed some jewelry on her neck or something to make it pop, here it's like there's no make-up and the hair isn't glamorous, it's cliché.

What a downgrade. Bad

I like the color of the masthead and the dress but last year's December cover was much better. Oh well at least the contents are going to be amazing again.

Damn Bertrando3, you are really letting it rip lol but yeah I agree to a certain degree that the cover does fall flat because of its simplicity. I wouldn't though go saying its cheap, especially Vogue Taiwan but it is missing a little 'sparkle'

Did you know, the editor (not 'in chief' but at large) of Vogue Taiwan is the creative director of Vogue China...and Chinese Vogue's editorials are the best concept wise etc

is she wearing a chanel??it doesn't look like to me... i thought she would definitly wear chanel

looks like a ELLE cover, but I like the colour!
I hope the content won't disappoint me like the cover did

Pretty girl but she looks like she's sitting on the toilet. I like the soft pastel colors for a December cover, though.

seriously?:ninja: she is just the new face of chanel in china... i can't believe she is on the cover without chanel
I'm not 100% sure but it looks like it . And yes it's weird that she's not wearing Chanel if she's a brand ambassador.

lol sorry  sometimes my comments can come across as harsh but the thing is that I love this edition so much that I feel sad to see bad execution, especially on covers, which ultimately are what sells magazines. Gosh no, I didn't know that the editor-at-large of Taiwanese Vogue is the creative director of Chinese Vogue. How surprising ! I mean Vogue Taiwan's editorials are not good by any stretch, I can't believe then they produce astonishing work for the Chinese edition. Thanks for the intel ^_^

In the end I know this issue of Chinese Vogue will have great editorials but I was bumped on the cover choice.

i think it's the combination of pretty but boring colors that make the cover look cheap and bland. they should have gone for something stronger

Just to clarify something: the pics in #17 aren't alternative covers but old ones (May 2008 and November 2009). bluedolphin wants to say that she got her third Vogue China cover.
