One of those cookie-cutter closeup covers that could be printed on any edition, for any month. Laura Dern is already a tough sell for me, and the fact that she's not making direct eye-contact and the nondescript styling just makes this cover more generic imo.

A classic scenario for me here: curious and excited to read the thread title, but got pretty much disappointed when I saw the visual. Laura looks miserable.

Laura’s beauty and power as a performer simply does not translate to print. It’s one flop after another when it comes to her magazine appearances. The good news is, in my not-so-humble opinion, she’s still one of the best actors in the history of film.

The Greats like Peter, Nick and Herb would shoot her so gloriously in all her sharp masculine features and not looking this harsh, haggard, hollow and dowdy. Lesser days ruled by such pathetic lessers— and it gets a cover :sob:
