Definitely should've been cropped! Her face looks way too small. There's a huge disconnect here. Photographer wanted something cheesy and commercial, but the stylist something edgy. Not helped by the art direction which looks like an afterthought.
ugh I love love love Txema but this just doesn't come across right Shame too because Birgit is lovely
I love the concept, I love the photographer and I love the model but the result is disappointing.. I'm still very interested in the cover story though!
It's almost... cartoonish. The gradient backdrop, the yellow Vogue masthead, the striped Saint Laurent and Birgit's seemingly forced smile... nothing is working here. I refuse to believe that given all those fantastic Numéro covers Txema Yeste has shot and how gorgeous Birgit Kos is, that this was the best shot available to the magazine. Atrocious!
A bit commercial, but I like it. It looks very 90s. Maybe would be better as a 'Glamour' cover rather than 'Vogue".
It's like those two edits in US Harper's, both shot by Yeste. One an instant classic, the other something embarrassingly cheesy.
