Fantastic casting, would've been better if there was only 1 cover and a group shot. This is typical Lindbergh but Vittoria's cover is the best out of the 3.
Yes for all
Quite lovely covers and looks like a good tribute to Karl. My only wish though is that Brigit has better position for the cover.
Why not put Claudia?
Only Vittoria's one actually works for a cover in terms of composition, but I don't like the styling - it overwhelms her. I don't understand why Luna is making that ridiculous face (yet another awful Vogue Germany cover for her?), and the hair on Luna is very odd but that houndstooth suit looks great on her. The stark sea setting is probably better suited to August, or maybe it's deliberately elegiac in a German way to pay tribute to Karl.
So it seems Vogue Germany's special edition finally landed. Keen to see how Arp dealt with it because like the top 4, she's certainly got a decent share of content tucked in the magazine's vault.
Ugh, so heavy, and depressing! I don't like any of the covers, but i hope the issue is a great tribute to Karl.
Content wise, i have been loving their issues, they are having a good year!
a little depressing for July but I like them... especially, Vittoria's cover, which I love... no one sets the mood for me better than Lindbergh even if it is a little bit too melancholic for the summer
Saw the models names and got the Karl’s tribute right away!
Love the idea and like half of the execution.
July is Couture month so maybe the tribute is good for that month but I expected a September issue for Karl...
Luna doesn’t shine in this. Where was Adut?
The tones are depressing for a July issue. It lacks vitality. These covers would have suited September better.
Despite of that, the casting is great and the first cover is very beautiful, from the set to the composition. I only wish Luna's mouth were more relaxed. The other two covers are too similar.

I like the images themselves but as previously mentioned, they’re so heavy-looking for a month like July. The vibe is just a little too melancholic for my taste even though it is a tribute issue.
With the styling being mostly from the Chanel and Fendi AW19 collections, I think they should’ve waited for a September. And there’s just something off with that heavy styling and the beach as a background.
These covers are quite beautiful but for a July issue?
^ Agree, kind of drab for July.
Shot in Sylt? It's about time. That place is dreamy in the off-season.
This does nothing for me though, photography and styling are beyond pedestrian.
Agreed! But they want to be the first to shoot it, you see. Even if at the end it's really the execution which matters.
Magazines and advertisers are always on some eternal rush to show autumn collections. Already most June issues are already running Dior's pre-fall ads. You have no idea how disjointed a magazine looks with Jennifer Lawrence in chunky knits and jackets on the one hand, and swimsuits and beachwear on the other. At least Gucci, Prada and Loewe shot their pre-fall ads in a summer setting, so it doesn't look out of place at all.
Smiled at the "Karls Team". It was very well known that Karl did very very very little in his photoshoots so I'm happy to see his team continuing to get work.
For me Birgit is the star...she feels like a true Lindbergh woman. I agree these covers would have been better at a later month, maybe October? The gloomy feel is so out of kilter!
Photographed in Deauville, according to Peter Lindbergh's Instagram.
Finally... something worthy for a 40th anniversary celebration. It's unfortunate that it took Lagerfeld's passing for Vogue Germany to produce something worthwhile and worthy of 40 years! All three covers are rather beautiful, love to cohesiveness, the cast, the Deauville setting - a very tasteful and fitting tribute to Lagerfeld's work.
