Vogue Germany July/August 2023 : Lauren Hutton by Ned Rogers

The disrespect. An icon like Lauren deserves better than those apples.

It’s not good but to be honest she looks adorable and very approachable here.

wtf is this....So this is the great work Edward be doing overseeing this?....lame lame lame and yes so disrespectful

I love her.
But forcing her to move like an influencer is a crime.
Vogue Germany is lost....forever.

The only redeeming fact is that we've got Lauren Hutton back on the cover of Vogue. It's just a downright shame the outcome is so unbelievably mediocre and amateur. Not one single element is working for me, from the gradient backdrop to the lazy art direction.

I may have appreciated something more similar to Ned Rogers' cover of Vogue Greece with Jessica Chastain, to evoke and pay homage to those wonderful stories Lauren Hutton done with Richard Avedon for American Vogue.

Insert that TikTok lady saying "Everybody's so creative!"

If you have to explain how your cover works, then you failed.

Everything else aside, Lauren is gorgeous. This is much better than her Vogue Italia from a few years back.

I really hope the cover page is not that opaque. It really seems like an unnecessary addition to what is a pretty decent cover.

I've forgotten that this edition is still in print, at this point.

I was excited about this but its a disaster. How did they get a supermodel and come up with this?

God, what a horrible cover & i hope than the edit will be better, Lauren is a fashion icon.

I don't hate this cover, but I don't like what she's doing with her arm.
A full facing shot would have been perfect, for her gorgeous face and smile.

Looking at my library's digital copy, this is 214 pages.

There's a lot to read at the front of the issue before the fashion editorials start. The Lauren Hutton story is followed by UK Vogue reprints with Binx etc, the one with Sacha Quenby, another reprint with Camille Chifflot and Malika, then A NEW EDITORIAL?!? Anok and sister Alim Hai, shot by Dan Martensen. Ich kann es nicht glauben.

If living in a world of reprints isn't bad enough, the covers of the German edition are terrible. This magazine feels more like a newspaper supplement than a fashion publication.
