The fonts in the first cover are horrible but kind of work in the second cover. The first one should have been more classy like the pic, but ditch the pipe please. The model could have been anybody. If I have to choose it would be the second cover for sure.

Overall I like the second cover more, but her face in the first cover looks better.

I’m so happy that Luna is a bona fide Karl favourite ❤️

Dreadful. Fonts and masthead remind of old Vogue Russia.

Karl is obsessed with Luna! It's official now...
There's something weird and amateur about the layout and the styling. The photos he did for the lookbook of the collection were more impactful.

What surprised me more is that apparently the two covers were shot separately as they credited different hair/make-up artists.

Luna just exudes power on that second cover:blush:
First cover is a bit cheesy, but I can respect that they're trying something daring with a black base

Another magazine with no cover identity. You'll note that Arp changes the art direction for each cover now, it seems everybody wants to be VI.

I think both covers are dreadful. Even more than Karl's namesake campaigns. A complete and utter waste of Luna.

    It’s all so embarrassingly basic.

Like what 1st-year design students hand in for an assignment on the most cliché presentation of a mood: (Mockup #1)Show masculine confidence by putting a suit on a woman, and have her sit with her legs open and smoking a pipe…. (Mockup #2)Now show girly playfulness and confidence by dressing her in pearls and bare legs… LOL… :shudders:…

Just when I thought nobody can undo Donetalla in the clueless department— Karl swoops in to show just how much more clueless he always is...

Lol, I know it's probably because he's German, but Arp should really confine him and his pedestrian photographic sensibility to the inside of this magazine. You are correct in your '1st year' assessment. And then she expect people to buy this? Actually, let me not feign any shock. German fashion magazines, other than Harper's, aren't exactly renowned for their covers. I don't know what they spend their time on, but it's certainly not great styling and art direction.

I like Luna, but what the hell did they do to her face in that 2nd photo? It's actually scary.

That first cover is painful, in terms of photography. I know plenty of photographers that could do that. It's mediocre, amateur,... indeed, clueless.

usually it's July i think, then Sep is fall winter, but Chanel has too many collections, the commercial lines may hit market earlier
