Vogue Hong Kong August 2020 : Kylie Jenner by Greg Swales

Easily one of their better covers.
The layout is better as well

It would have been much more better if they print billionaire on the cover...

I'll put my frustration with the Kardashian-Instagram-millennial-blogger aesthetics aside and acknowledge that this cover is pretty and sexy. I'd just insert a text or two somewhere on the cover as well.

I somehow read auction and was quite surprised at the shade

Or how about 'self-made billionaire', lol!

Subject aside, I do think it's a nice image that would have raked up the praise if it were, say Vittoria Ceretti? So she is photogenic here. In general more than all her sisters combined. I think the cropping of her thighs look a bit odd, as if she's got a stump and not her full leg.

I would not have guessed this was a Vogue HK cover though, but they don't have an identity to begin with. It looks moe like a very daring Vogue Arabia or early Vogue Turkey cover to me.

^^^ Too too too risqué for Arabia.

Kylie is Kylie. At best her portrayal of sexy will always come with a good dose of sleazy. For this shot, she has the advantage of slightly resembling a baby Janice Dickinson’s “sleazy sexy”. So I’ll take it.

(Just have to LOL @Vogue HK’s “Action Issue” and they went with…. Kylie. I understand big bro China is ready to crush them if they step the teeniest bit out of line— but since they’re making activism an “issue”-- and I'll conclude it's social/political activism and not entrepreneurial activism, will the current protests in HK be even referenced in this issue???? …. Or is it the activism everywhere else but the one on their very doorstep...)

I actually like it, but if they are going to do an "action issue" with that image on their front page, then it's a different story to me. The girl literally does nothing on it.

When I first saw this on Instagram early this morning I thought it was another one of those vogue challenge edits. Not because it’s bad necessarily, but because it looks like any one of her photos she takes for her Instagram with a Vogue masthead added to it

Seems more Paper Magazine than Vogue, but it’s not necessarily a bad cover. She looks great I must say.

^^^ Tragic doesn’t even start to describe their attitude if they ignore such an important movement that's going to effect every HK citizen.

I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that they do showcase the “activism” of those standing up against the commies. But “Act Now”— of which I’ll always associate with the AIDS activists of the 90s, is such an awkward coverline next to Kylie LOL Everything she represents is just so vapid and hollow when I think of the current protests in HK— and of the AIDS activists of the 90s. All they need is for the “ACT NOW” coverline to be in Helvetica Heavy in white within the red box, and it’ll have all the irony a Barbara Kruger painting... LOL...

Sexy businesswoman roleplay complete with wipe-clean surfaces, because time is money when it comes to the boardroom.
