Vogue India May 2017 : Kendall Jenner by Mario Testino

Looking dead as always, which is a shame because the styling, concept and photography are amazing. Should've chosen a different model, that's for sure.

What is it with Vogue + Collector's Issue + Mario Testino + Output being bad? What a very unique concept.

This had all the elements of being a stunning cover. You have a very beautiful and somehow they decided to put on her something as equally busy. Talk about an eyesore. It would've been so much better if she were wearing something white matched with the perfect amount of accessories. Something simple yet luxurious would've sufficed.

And that handwriting is bad. At first I thought it said "Jndian Affair"

Kendall actually looks great here, when you consider that this is for Vogue India! It's the photography and art directions which looks a bit lacking. Gold maybe wasn't the ideal colour as it clashes with the coral backing, and the entire shot looks very skew (most likely due to Testino's angle).

Vogue India isn't normally overfond of models, least of all their own, so it's a bit random that Kendall got this cover. I don't personally recall when last I've seen a Western model on their covers. Cindy in 2010?

A 'collectors' edition' that makes you want to do the opposite of collecting it.

Not a good angle for her face.

Truly awful cover.

Surprised how much less awful this is than I expected from the thread title. She actually looks good, and works for Testino's stiff glamour.

They reprinted the VP cover with Cindy and Kaia last year.

She looks uncomfortable
She need to learn how to relax her eyes and mouth

Would have been great if It wasn't Kendall, or had she served a better face.

There is already brewing backlash on social media on how Vogue India should have used one of their own...

Kendall looks great... the face and pose makes the cover IMO

Vogue India is kind of low for her. Perhaps this is the beginning of the end.

Whoever is running Kendall's modelling career don't have a clue what they're doing. On the one hand she's doing top shows and follows a US Vogue September cover up with a March one, the next she you see her on Vogue India. Makes no sense. Maybe the tide is turning.

^ I disagree, this is a Mario Testino edited issue of Vogue India's Anniversary, nowhere near from her "end", it's an honour SHE got the cover actually! Makes total sense, career wise, every agent would wish this for their model, let's not kid ourselves!

I agree^. It's not Vogue India that we should be looking at, it's the fact that Mario decided that it's her that he'll use for the cover. It's not like Vogue India can tell Mario what to do, nor can they change his decisions. I think part of these agreements is the surrender of control to the Photographer. So the fact Mario chose him, is a bigger feat for her.

Kendall needs more supporters if she is going to prolong her modeling days... Testino is a good person to have in her corner... it's genius of him to use her because she is going to give much visibility to this edition... and vogue India...

I prefer his Australian Vogue issue with Lara Stone to this mess. His Aussie Vogue was perfect - from the fonts to the models and the energy.

Can't say the same for this.. Nice font, Indian Vogue better stick to it.

Must admit that I like the look of everything here, and think Kendall looks fantastic. I saw some of Kendall's cover story online and love the look of that too. The whole concept and styling reminds me of those retro James Bond movies from the 60s and 70s. Yes!
