Vogue Italia January 2010 : Karlie Kloss by Steven Meisel

I love the energy on the cover, defiantly appeals to me. Kinda disappointed that Karlie is on the cover, but..
Her falls all look believable, for a quick second I was actually trying to remember when she fell.
Can't wait to see the editorial inside. Thanks for posting mariemaud!

I don't know what the rest of the ed will involve, but as far as runway falls, I think another mag already did something similiar? I can't for the life of me remember which one though (probably a small one).
Singapore L'Officiel March 2009 had an editorial that was inspired by the falls at Prada SS09.

As for the cover, I'm not crazy about the collage (with this and the December issue) though I don't mind the way this turned out. It's nice when fashion doesn't take itself so seriously, and can it turn around and laugh at itself.

I have to say, I'm a little disappointed that Meisel's done another "rough" looking cover - it's better than last month's (which I liked 'cos it was fresh and unexpected), but I would've liked to see something a bit more polished maybe?

That said, I'm really quite excited to see the editorial - December's was fantastic, hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable so I'm hoping for more of the same!

Finally, Karlie looks absolutely fantastic. Her posing is just spot on - she's so talented! However, I've just thought - does anybody else think this cover would've been better if it was just one of those images rather than the scrapbook feel? Just a thought^_^

I love the idea of the images... so i'm expecting more from the main ed. As for the cover itself, love the idea of falling down, but don't like the collage idea..

The more i look at it, the more i have to think where i have seen this before (because i know i have); this almost makes me think of that shoot ANTM did in their 6th cycle with the girls falling as fairy tale/folklore characters.

  I don't know wether to laugh or cry. It's awful...

I'm glad Meisel stuck with unconventional covers after the twitter cover ^_^ Now I can't wait for the main editorial, omg.

im so enjoy reading those comments like "i hate Karlie" "Karlie is awful" blah blah...it's just hilarious...no matter how deeply u guys hate her...she still rules the world

Well, I know a Singapore magazine, (L'Officiel?) which did this concept. If I'm not mistaken, rockthetrend @wordpress did an article on it.

...you're right. Though I'm against it I think 2010 will be her year.

Although I'm no fan of Karlie, I actually like this cover. I like the concept behind it and I like the idea of playing with models' work, like falling on a catwalk. And I haven't liked Vogue Italia covers in months, so this is pretty much a miracle to me.

But that's because, as Lagerfeld says, fashion world is so unfair. B)

Fashion is a reflection of the times we live in - This cover is exactly where fashion is at right now, how it is presented, viewed, observed, and consumed. Genius. And she looks gorgeous.

I like the cover. It's really great but why Karlie? I officially hate her.

Tell me about it, I don't get why they let her ruin so much things these days.

Anyway, the cover is pretty interesting. Hoping the main ed will be either.

What a disappointing cover. I expected so much. What's happening to VI?

That reminds me of Amber Valletta's cover for the May 1999 issue.
I don't like the cover anyway, only hope the eds are good.

the girls in the editorial are:agyness deyn, alla kostromicheva, aminata niaria, anna d rijk anna selezneva constance jablonskidaria strokous, freja, frida gustavsson, gwen looos, hanne gaby, irina kulikova, iris strubegger, isabeli fontana, iselin stiero, jac, jamie bochert, kamila filipcikova, karen elson, karlie kloss, kasia struss, kendra spears lara stone, lily donaldson, liya kebede, magdalena f. mirte maas, natasha poly, patricia van der vliet, ranya, rianne, rose, sasha, sessilee, sigrid, siri, snejana viktoriya.

i have only been able to id them all as at the end there is the list of the models ; )

^that sounds epic. i only hope it the editorial isn't a let down for me as it was for you; honestly, i don't think it will be...that's such an immense line up!
