Interesting you like the layout, ivano. I find their new art direction irritating AF. It’s clearly attempting to bridge Franca’s x Fabien's 1989 layout style with her 2000s layout sensibility. But like most creatives nowadays, it’s just giving sloppy cut-and-paste, with nothing interesting to add. But worst of all, the art direction doesn’t elevate the photography— it actually gets in the way instead, esepcaily with the horrendous color-palette of sherbets and neons. Of course Mark’s shoot is utter garbage, with no tone nor mood of the promise of a romantic vibe of the leading spread that goes nowhere. But the layout with its inclusion of annoying film stills, doesn’t help either. It’s just a straightup hugely ugly and lazy story. Mia deserves so much better.
