Vogue Japan February 2021 : Rianne van Rompaey by Luigi & Iango

I miss Vogue Japan with the white background.

 

I'm starting to associate Rianne with weird, frankly ugly covers like the one with the dolphins painted on her face and now this, where her eyes look like they're being dragged down by the veil. Can people not tell what a flattering shot is anymore?

 

Oh wow, I wish they had used the last two cover images for the actual cover! Such stunning portraits.

 

Of course options that are 10x better than the cover. Why do they torture us with this each month? And VJ has to be one of the worst offenders.

 

Loooove the fourth and eighth shots! And honestly I like the cover, not a fan of the colourful text though.

 

She looks dead in the eyes in the main cover shot (Ty Ty would not approve!), and the whole art direction/conception looks totally irrelevant for a fashion magazine that wants to appear directional. At least there are better images in the initial editorial preview, but once again, the whole theme is random. Does anyone try anymore?

 

Vogue Japan are on their way to steal the big 4 position!

Just what the fashion industry needed as we go into 2021, a Rianne van Rompaey special edition. This girl should be left behind along with everything else that happened in 2020

 

I think this is also a news stand cover because it has more texts compared to the other editorial-cover images. Rianne has wonderful editorials and she always looks very charming in my opinion.

 

That b&w cover is stunning. And the editorial are one of the best and memorable I seen in the while. My favorite are the beekeepers hat and the one she sit on the tree. She looks like a bride runaway from unwanted marriage. I love that melancholy vibe. The b&w editorial feels like a Helmut Newton tribute done right, (even better than the whole VI issue ).

This is a must have issue. Does anyone know how to get Asian Vogues in Amsterdam?

 

I dont hate any of the shots, theyre beautiful. I cant help but to imagine the all white editorial with someone with stronger presence tho like Daria or Raquel or even Caroline Trentini

 

Love you but thats utter nonsense. The longer 2020 lasts the more Rianne I need to hang in there honestly. Or Meisel for Prada.

 

UGH I LOVE Rianne’s editorials. I gotta admit.

 

Both of those editorials are so stunning. Never sick of Ms Van Rompaey

 

They had MANY better cover options. The editorial is stunning

 

There are better choices for cover. I for one would go with the image where she wears and asymmetrical top. Now that’s a stunning, cover-worthy shot!

Yes this has been her year, no doubt and it does feel like an Rianne overkill sometimes BUT she is so damn beautiful I cannot even be mad. I'll gladly take this over the Kendull Jenners of the world.
