Vogue Japan January 2023 : Lulu Wood by Hugo Comte

It’s interesting. I don’t even mind the ugly background that much. But the hair ruins it for my. I different contrasting colour would’ve been much better.

She is such a gorgeous model, and this is what they come up with for her first Vogue cover? Such a disappointment, but that frankly does not surprise me anymore; the glory days of Vogue are long gone. :flower:

OMG that background is diabolical ahahahha and that wig is awful. I like her face but other than that the overall result + layout is just a mess.
NEXT!

COVER #2: Rie Miyazawa by Kishin Shinoyama

second cover is hideous, first cover im not sure, that outfit is also so difficult.

All sorts of hideous. I wish they'd just put this poor edition out of its misery. And to think they pulled out archival Dior for this... fascinating how someone can make such exquisite garments look cheap.

The second one is the main cover. The first one, on the cover it reads "special cover edition".

I think I will get this issue even though I know all the eds will be reprints from UK and US editions. The main cover is how Vogue Japan should do their cover in terms of the choice of cover star: a well-known Japanese celebrity (Rie Miyazawa) by a renowned Japanese photographer (Kishin Shinoyama). Good job!

My least favorite Vogue Japan cover since their redesign. I don't like the slimy texture of the masthead especially because it does not add anything to the overall aesthetic of the shot.

The supplement cover, though a bit better, still looks tacky. I'm pretty sure Kidz Bop would love that background. It's giving Pink Friday Roman Reloaded album art.

Debra Shaw should’ve gotten the cover.

Is Dior coming in Japan with an exhibit?

Galliano-era Dior is its own best advertisement, I didn't even know this exhibition was happening and now I want to go too.

The nerve to request such an iconic Christian Dior look from the archive and give it this juvenile treatment. I'm just numb to the state of the VAST majority of print magazines lately, and loosing ALL faith. Vogue Japan's just another edition of Vogue thrown to the dogs by Condé Nast.

It is sponsored content, why Dior not requested star photographer like they did with Roversi for Melbourne exhibition promo in Vogue Australia
