Vogue Korea August 2015: Tilda Swinton by Hong Jang Hyun

Great surprise!! Love the minimal retouching and Tilda looks great here.

She has such presence, even in a minimal cover she commands it perfectly

Now we are talking! TILDA! She deserves to be in every magazine cover and I am sure she won't disappoint even if the style is not the best. She speaks for herself! I wish VI sees that and starts itching...

It is oddly rare to find her on fashion magazines. Especially when it seems like a lot of people are into her, even people who aren't too interested in fashion or film. Tilda and Lupita N'yongo both seem to appeal very broadly (and very surprisingly considering neither fit popular standards of beauty. Which makes me think that people are more open minded than originally thought, considering how poorly certain people like thin-white-blonde-Taylor Swift sell magazines.)

I was very excited when I saw the title of the thread. Looks okay but this could have been so much better.

what an amazing cover. she's always flawless. really looking forward to the content

I was excited until I actually saw it.

Absolutely. This really could have been so much more with a little more effort. And the tiny text is so odd.

Tilda is unusual but striking looking; I've chuckled at the expression of rejection of some straight guys when I show her mugs to them.. Lupita is the definition of conventional femininity and prettiness, down to the way she dresses and her presence. She's as conventional-looking and non-threatening as they come. On a purely superficial note, nothing about her look or style is challenging the status-quo of standard beauty. In that sense, Lupita has more in common with Taylor than she does with Tilda.

I suppose she's seen as some sort of shape-shifter because she's a black woman with natural hair, which is somewhat of a rarity in Hollywood. But beyond that, everything else about her is pretty generic which makes her just as accessible as Taylor. Tilda is in a completely different league style and looks wise. So essentially you're right.

Tilda brings such a unique freshness to the cover.
