Vogue Korea August 2020 : Park Bo-gum by Janghyun Jong

A bit too cold and stiff posing. I do like the blue sky and how it blends with the lv shirt.

It could have been better considering the beauty of gummy.

I love the world play though. Vogue and Bogum

Indeed, very stiff and also very retouched. I'd take the first cover over the rest, but I don't get the art design.

Ohhhh NICELY DONE !!! I love that first cover: I wished it were lighted better though, it's a tad too dark and he should have been looking at the camera but this is very good, the other covers I guess are just promotional and for Instagram and all but they do not bring anything new.

This looks like a parody of Vogue Italia under Verderi.

The only vogue that always put solo men for the cover is Vogue Korea ... why other vogue not doing like this ? :P

I like the colors. The boy looks like a wax figure.

Because Korean male celebrities, especially those that come from the K-Pop or K-Drama scene, are considered fashion icons by both female and male fans. They seem to embrace fashion genuinely. Unlike Hollywood male celebrities who treat fashion as just another part of the business.

I think it's because of the fact that the "machismo" mindset is not prevalent in South Korea - which is one of the things that I love about them. Male celebrities can wear eyeshadow (even to the point of donning a smokey eye), can mix and match women's clothes, and even have the most colorful hair colors without losing their sense of manhood. They're not afraid of fashion and beauty.

Also, we have to consider that the men that they put on their covers drive up the sales.

Word for word is exactly what's happening there with magazines and male celebrities indeed.

The second cover is great. The others are meh.

True! But I've read that though they may not have the 'machismo' mindset (*cough* like all the Latin countries *cough*) and though they often consume more makeup than most Western women, they do have a very shoddy reputation when it comes to women and feminism in general. Probably more than China and Japan in certain respects. I'm talking about wage gaps and sex crimes to casual misogyny in general.

And when you see all these men constantly on the cover of Vogue Korea, more than any other Vogue might I add, then the charges of their ingrained male-dominated culture become even clearer.
