True! But I've read that though they may not have the 'machismo' mindset (*cough* like all the Latin countries *cough*) and though they often consume more makeup than most Western women, they do have a very shoddy reputation when it comes to women and feminism in general. Probably more than China and Japan in certain respects. I'm talking about wage gaps and sex crimes to casual misogyny in general.
And when you see all these men constantly on the cover of Vogue Korea, more than any other Vogue might I add, then the charges of their ingrained male-dominated culture become even clearer.
This is very true as well! Women are held to a higher standard than men. Women's weight and over-all appearance seems fair game to the general public. It is always subject to strict scrutiny to a point where celebs are forced to retire. It's insane!
"Ordinary" women can't be celebrities, while a boy band with the most average-looking members and run-of-the-mill talent can gain immense international and domestic success. Go off.
