A few months ago an influencer made an statement about racism in México’s fashion industry and published an screenshot from someone who worked at Vogue which said that Karla uses derogative words/mexican slurs like “naco” or “indio” when she doesn’t want someone to appear on the magazine.
Wow, that’s so sad

it's a little surprising... i have tried to search for this news but nothing...is this influencer trustworthy? it's surprising too because Karla even herself isn't white or mexican white...but well people are full of surprises i guess...

The screenshot was posted in his IG stories but was deleted a few minutes later.

OH ok, i get it sometimes these influencers made statements just looking for attention...i mean it's very easy to judge the way it happened...anyway... i liked her work with the magazine...with lots of flaws and this is business for them so of course they need to use the "diversity" card...Alt did it with Valentina Sampaio and a lot other editors...and i wonder if all of them it was because they truly believed it or just because it's going to help on sales and media...

I find this VERY hard to believe.

I've chatted with her a few times; she's always been very sweet. I have friends who work with her and colleagues who worked with her in the past (in the US.)

It just seems so unlike her.

The new Vogue Mexico has changed drastically under her; she has been pushing for more and more diversity and she pushed hard for Yalitza Aparicio on the cover.

Compare her era to the previous editors.

Anything is possible but.... Just doesn't seem like her at allllll.

Correct. She's what's known as mestiza.

Maybe that's the reason the screenshot was deleted, I don't know. I tried to contact the person who posted the capture but I didn't get a response. Actually, my thesis is about women empowerment, feminism and diversity during Karla's era at Vogue and that capture gave me an interesting point of view about how the magazine is perceived by people who works there but I guess without it, my results would be more positives.
