^ Yes, and encouraging such distinction and personal choice like you just pointed out is a component in the dynamics of one society, which sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Outside of that society, however, she's American, specifically in Mexican society, she's most certainly not Mexican and when it comes to recognition, she does not have any sort of following. If what the editor went after was embracing Latin standards of beauty, that's good but for such a nice gesture of racial sympathy, she could've used someone relevant in the countries this is aimed for.
