I Like both covers but the layout looks so cheep.

Choices... both photographs are stunning but not at all Vogue. Layout is also very questionable, it's so random and that circle on second cover? Nonsense

Omg, the 2nd cover is amazing! One of the best I've ever seen. I'll admit it's not Vogue att, but the image is really faultless. I can understand why Karla went with it.

photos could have been great but the final effect is that of some iphone photos with a student making some really weak design. so lacklustre for an anniversary, they should be fired.

The other 4 covers: Elisa Carrillo (mexican dancer), Irene Azuela (actress), Frida Escobedo (architect) and Abigail Mendoza with family (mexican chef). All of them are beautiful covers.

Ohhh my GOOODDDDD.....

I am GAGGING!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, they look more National Geographic than Vogue but holy crap, we've never seen these kinds of women on ANY Vogue covers! Would this be the 2nd time we've had indigenous women on any Vogue? (Yalitza would be the first, I imagine)

Ya'll don't understand... You NEVER see these kinds of women in media/entertainment/advertising. They're relegated to 2nd class citizens all across the Americas (be it Latin America, United States of America, even Canada.)

Joramana, I don't think anyone is begrudging the indigenous women on the cover, love. I think it's merely the execution.
Hate the multi concept, but I'm glad to see Frida's cover!! There's a stoic Frida Kahlo quality with her pose, and the colours and stillness about that cover is so soothing.

Overall I'm a bit gutted that Santiago & Mauricio got lumped with that awful September cover for Mexico, because they would've done wonders with these themes.

The winners are the Bolivians, and Frida.

There are only a beauty and accesory ed. The rest is a portfolio, with interviews and chronicles, like a Nat Geo mag, but focus on women and Mexican and Latin American places. It's a very special issue, and I find it very original. This magazine is one of the most cultural editions of Vogue out there, but this month culture it's the main subject, the model for its covers. Collectors around the world would love to have this.

The last two are only digital, the rest can be foldout or multi. For Latin America, as I know, there's one. I don't see the number 20 on the other covers, as the firts two.

The art direction of Vogue Mexico has always elevated their publication to a more sophisticated sheen than its creative content. It’s what I like about this issue, even if the lack of fashion content seems to be sidelined for its feature of a group of inspiring individuals. “Elisa, alas para volar” by Sharif Hamza is achingly and stunningly alive and gorgeous— possessing that right amount of personality, fashion, style and life that many seem to forget or can’t be bothered when they’re showcasing a personality, and think “raw” is enough. “Irene lo Toma todo”, also shot by Sharif, is another supremely shot story.:It’s graphic design come-to-life in its strict and severe portraiture direction. And it’s the perfect other side of the coin to his story with Elisa. The other visually-strong fashion story is “Palabra de Natalia” by Michael Gannon that faintly conjures the gentle spirit of Peter Lindbergh’s hazy and muted compositions. And all elevated by the clean and supreme layout.

It’s not that the other stories aren’t well-shot or well-presented, just that they have absolutely nothing to do with fashion, and not only the photographic style is clear about this, but their layouts reflect that. And it’s a shame as far as I’m concerned; because this is Vogue, after all, and deserve the same stylish treatment as the other more HF stories.

Totally hear you for sure. I think it's meant to be a special issue more based on cultural fashion sense than on high-fashion (but I reside in the US/London and don't have the issue in front of me.) I could be wrong tho, as I have only seen excerpts online.

However I DO disagree with you about Santiago & Mauricio....... They are super hit-or-miss for me and not consistent enough... Just my opinion tho!

I just saw the content and is a beautiful issue. As mexican, I am so happy and proud with this homage. Karla and her team did a good job.
