Are they really all going to be pregnant/w their kids?

I love Sylvia

After all those years, finally her first solo Vogue cover (unless I missed something obscure from the 90s). Well deserved!

Dear God, this is getting out of hand now! Makes me want to buy surplus copies of British and Russian Vogue because the appeared to have a common sense not to force babies and bellies down everyone's throats.

Back to the cover, I like what she's wearing and the black masthead looks very striking with the image, but NOT the pastels.

beautiful photo but all these family values are now giving me some sort of family sickness that comes with a lot of nausea... so if I don't have a baby does it mean I have no family? Why is this idea offered to us through such a limited scope...

This issue seems to have reclaimed some of the inaugural issue’s bravado (of being a competent lil sis to Emmanuelle’s superior leading VP big sis, of course). The cover doesn’t do the feature fashion story “Rebirth” justice with it's awful flat lighting-- because the story's lighting is rich and thick with mood. The story is exactly that brand of all-mood and cozy, laid-back attitude I’ve adored about Scandinavian/Eastern European fashion publications-- where they’re true to the spirit of their culture rather than desperate to be another global representation, and in the process, lose any mark of identity and personality (like Anna’s and Edward’s Vogues).

The other two fashion stories are serviceable, and should excite those that are into that very 80-minimalism that I&V did so well back in the mid-90s for The Face magazine, and Emmanuelle’s perfected for her Miss Vogue. But the standout— and unfortunately, only 3-pic feature “Sweet Carolina (de Maigret)” is all kinds of gorgeous: Styling, photography, subject and all mood. More of this, please.

Hope one of the regulars that dutifully post to share will bother with this issue. It’s very solid and deserves some love.

Whiteout and valentina editorial are the best of this issue by far...

Can't look past how blatant this new EIC is going about copying Alt. I used to think it was comical, but now it's really sad.

Whiteout is sadly the only interesting edit for me, but then again, it is a reprint from Russian Vogue. And the much bandied-about Caroline de Maigret edit is from Trunk Archive.....

Happy to see Valentina, and the main ed is giving me some eerie vibes, the twins look menacing in some shots. I must say I like it.

EXACTLY, antiquated as hell.

I was going to buy this for Caroline, but i cannot get over the cover. The only "positive" thing I can say about this, is that the baby folly is not Vogue NL jumping in the bandwagon, it's just a national obsession that infects all fashion magazines in this country for years. Vogue Living NL(incidentally a much better magazine than Vogue NL) features families with kids in every single issue, i think that's actually the whole point of the magazine and where the Vogue budget is going. .
