I don't understand Alt's reluctance to use more French actresses... I just find Gisele to be such a tired brand now and can't figure out how she could be connecting with the French public... Yes, her sales were good but again, it was June/July... two months on the newsstands...

We have the French actresses on Elle every week... people here don't care so much about celebs anyway

I absolutely adore that first cover, I even love the typography. There's something really early 00's about it and I think it's fabulous. Terrible job of cropping round Gisele's arms though, very amateur.

Overall it has a classic iconic feel to it and I'm excited to get it!

They ruined the first cover with the color of the fonts! The second cover is a little better. I still don't like Gisele and never understand why she was such a big thing.

As @sixtdaily said, we have french actresses everytime on ELLE and we don't need to see them styled in a classic, redundant parisian aesthetic thing once again.
You know...The usual Jeans and blazer with the usual tank top with no make up thing...

I would love to see Isabelle Huppert tho.
That being said, i wish it was someone else than Gisele. She is fine but expected.

I am actually happy to see Gisele. I suppose she is a safe choice but then again at least she always delivers.
I hope the editorial will be good, I have high hopes also because of Mikael Jansson.

Love it, garish art direction and all! It's Gisele that once again elevates even bad art direction, that is why her brand & model service will never go out of Fashion! She will be booking covers for the rest of her life, because she is that good, and she sells!

Probably because people buy more magazines during summer so they can read it on the beach etc.

I feel like Josephine Le Tutour would have made a great cover girl. She's French and she always gave me the impression she was a beach girl

You won't ever hear me complaining over the sight of Gisele on Vogue Paris but I am more than willing to admit these aren't her best covers for the magazine. And we did go 2018 without ANY Gisele x VP!

I am fond of how retro the first cover looks, I like the monochrome Chanel swimsuit with the black Vogue masthead and when matched with the primary coloured fonts but I do absolutely loathe that random 'Gisele Bundchen' text in the top right (on both covers). My favourite out the two is the second, by an absolute mile.

Now that really was a bad cover, and it says so much about her that it sold so well.

Soooo lazy, from the choice of the model to the styling, from the background to the photography.
