VP is so expensive here, but i think i'll end up buying this issue just for that^ ed, bal masqué, and the old pics.

"Think Punk" only reaffirms that Freja Beha Erichsen is one of, if not the most talented and versatile model of her generation. She really can embody any character, and believably so. I am blown away.

Also, I was contemplating "Festin" today and another source of possible inspiration sprang up: Mama Cass Elliot.

Freja styled as a punk isn't anything new though.

Hmmm...kind of under-whelming.

Highlights include "Festin" (normally, I'm very anti-Terry Richardson, but this editorial is great) and Shannan Click.

And that's about it. Ha!

Since the departure of Fabien Baron and more recently of Marie-Amélie Sauvé, the magazine's content declined in quality, at this moment everybody is tired of the same boring stories that Carine and Emanuele present every month. Paris Vogue needs urgently of new blood, new stylists, like Camila Nickerson, Melanie Ward or Panos! Think about it!
Couldn't agree more!
Vogue Paris really needs new blood. The magazine has been lame every month for the last 2~3years.

And it sucks to see an anniversary issue without brand like Balenciaga. Yes, I'm still uncomfortable about the banning and being banned affair.

^To be fair to Carine, she tried to interject new stylists (Jane How, Melanie Ward etc. ). Though I don't understand why she doesn't use them on a regular basis. Is it because of Carine's vision of an all-French team? But they didn't keep Carlyne Cerf either...
They really need to fill out the void that Marie-Amelie left.

Anyway, I really love the new art direction - so crisp and neat.

agree about freja. that editorial was just as much of a mess as "The Party" but worse.

on the other hand Iselin is the most transformative model I may have ever seen. her editorial completely saves this issue for me. I guess I was too excited about it beforehand so I ended up a little underwhelmed. although Bal Masque is quite nice as well.

Woah, another horrible and insipid issue from the VP team, hoped since its anniversary, it would be better, no such luck!

slightly off-topic...

Anyone know where I can get the issue with the "portfolio of oversize photographs" included? Will the ones at the Kiosks (on the street) in Paris have this included, or will it just be the magazine by itself?

^ I've just contacted Condé Nast customer service and they told that the portfolio/supplement is only available to french buyers, so it's available everywhere in France.
Although, you can order the issue (with the supplement) through Paris Vogue back issues department (contact form/email address is available at vogue.fr), but at this moment the issue sold out, restock is scheduled for January 2011.

It's a shame that as usual all the supplements are not released worldwide.

Yes. But we can't deny that she can pull-off any look, from the rebel girl (as we see here), to something like In grande stile, Modern Love etc. I don't like this edit, it's really bland, but I enjoy Freja's versatility.

I guess En Vogue has been incorporated into Bal Masque, with Shannan Click. Such a stellar set of images. Always enjoy how the accessories reflect the image.
Karmen and Anja outshine the rest of the casting. But they all play an equal part. The photography and colours are so strong.
Androgyne with Iselin is the weakest editorial in the issue. Iselin with that hair, reminds me of Tilda Swinton.

Hopefully this issue shows up here soon. I'm anticipating the entire issue in print, I feel like getting two copies.

I FINALLY got the issue by post, and I have to say... their heaviest issue ever (it really is, to quote Carine, a "perfect coffee table book"), the entire issue BREATHS opulence, extravagance and luxury, which is EXACTLY what Vogue Paris is all about!!! They've interpreted the whole masked ball theme brilliantly... can't wait to see the Crillon Party photos!!

You're obviously entitled to your opinion, but out of curiosity, what would you have liked to see? More/less of? :flower:
