It looks like its from the Transition stage of Vogue Ukraine before it went full-on Vogue Italia. Magazines are not dying. Creativity is.
Well, certainly a strong statement they'remaking here. A openly gay woman on Vogue Russia? Not surprised Gosha chose her because she's their muse, I just expected more because Renata has such a classic beauty. This cover does nothing for me.
I love it when local celebs get covers, but this is gross. I know she had a cover in 2003, it was an epic profile.

Oh I wouldn't call it a statement at all. She and her alleged partner have constantly denied that they're anything more than good friends/creative collaborators. I guess Renata is relevant, she is a well-known actress/director/style icon and she used to be (maybe still is?) the creative director of Numero Russia. Plus it's her second Vogue cover. I used to be a fan, but I can't understand her support and praise of Demna and Gosha. As I don't understand this ugly cover lol. That editorial though? Gorgeous.
I'm bored of this style. It was interesting when Vogue Ukraine did it first. Now It's a game of copycat and I've had enough! Where is the glamour? Vogue Russia was so chic and glamourous when Alyona was there, now look at it... Gifer
Do you believe them? Her editorial is exactly what I imagined when I read the thread title. Classic glamour, with a bit of a cold edge. Ultimately the cover looks a bit odd considering the mood of this story. Photography-wise Gosha doesn't have much to say, I'm afraid. This is the first time I've seen his work and the shoot may well have been by any new-ish photographer. Maybe he deliberately went safe because of Vogue Russia. Who's still commissioning Benjamin Shine pieces?
That editorial has more interesting cover options than the actual cover, the first picture in color with white backdrop would have been one of the most beautiful covers for this month.
Is Lil' Gosha starting to feel the fade of the trash-streetwear trend and is now trying "new projects"? Or has he done it before and my brain just erased every memory of it? Everything he does looks counterfeit.
This. You'd think print magazines would strive to create something which cannot be replicated using some free application on the App Store. Vogue Russia did used to produce some terrific December covers (just like Vogue Germany) but this is completely unremarkable. Not to mention how miles apart it is, from the likes of the cover with Naomi Campbell by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott from December 2008 (which I constantly kick myself for not purchasing at the time). It's a real shame to see editor's let standards slip. Masha Fedorova has done nothing remarkable for Vogue Russia and I always feel like a December cover is where you can go to town with creativity. The least an editor can do is gift us some fantasy ONE month out the year.
