You'd think Victoria would be putting out something more excitable, more visually appealing than this. Surely someone at Condé Nast has noticed the dramatic downfall in quality. It's all so very Russian Tatler. Moving from Tatler to Vogue, I would be thriving to raise the bar. This entire issue borders on mediocrity. There's nothing here to make me optimistic about future issues. Fair enough, Elena Melnik has an editorial.. although I don't want to be paying almost £10 for that one story. Which happens to look like an amateur French Vogue shoot.
What's more depressing is that Vogue Russia was always a must-have purchase. Yet issue after issue, I feel let down by Victoria and the remaining staff. Aliona's vision was captivating, clear and consistent. Victoria's is proving to be consistent pages of blandness.
We'll probably get Natasha Poly covering the August issue, and I'll have a different tale to tell.
