Its a mystery to me, do people buy this magazine. Are these girls top celebrities in Taiwan? I can vouch for Zhang Ziyi and Sophie Marceau though. Angelababy at a stretch, but nobody else.
Well if Vogue China or even Thailand could book a well known models and also photographers why can't Vogue Taiwan do the same? I don't know how well they sell in their own country or public reaction to this magazine in Taiwan. Its a mystery to me, do people buy this magazine. Are these girls top celebrities in Taiwan? Vogue India is also using India's superstar regularly on the cover but they're created an okay or decent covers and editorial. I think the whole team of Vogue Taiwan need to be reformed from the stylist (it's so godamn awful), photographer (the photography's always so amateur looking), art director who made those hideous layout, to the Editor In Chief who approved to print all of the mess :|. Well okay, if they're scared of Caucasian fashion, it's fine to use local talent just like Vogue India but at least use a decent photographers and put some efforts on the styling and background and also find some new fonts to replace those hideous fonts. Thanks so much for the responses! I think I get it now, somewhat. They shoot their own celebs in Chanel, LV etc which ultimately makes the brands more accessible to the readers and further their sales. However bad their covers are, it always reflects a current high profile look. Asia is so diverse because, like Fluxxx was saying, China & Thailand mixes it up. Japan is apparently divided into 'Western' and native press. I find it quite interesting. Anyway, it doesnt always need to look this bad though. Last month's cover with that guy was quite ok actually.
