The second cover is the digital cover.

The cover story is based on a traditional Ukrainian new year feast called Malanka, so we went to Ukraine's most sacred places to document the unique beauty with the unique new faces @filonenkovita and @abibulayeva

They're taking this edgy thing too far. the second cover is awful.

I loved the newsstand cover. VU has the best covers imo, either edgy or vintage-y (if you can call the 90s vintage)... I´m always looking forward to them :)

It's the 'winter flu' seasonal special, with bonus supplement about sneezing.

I love the second one. It's folk-fresh Matryoshka chic.
First one is unnecessary.

It should've been the other way around, the second cover feels like it would be more memorable as a print copy than the first one. Interested to see the full story as this is not a theme we often see in fashion.

It seems VU is what VR should have been, either way, their direction continues to impress me. This is how you showcase new photographers and models!

Perfect for winter. I can feel it just bursting through the covers. Makes me just want to crawl up by the fireplace with a cup of tea.

Anyone knows what are those straw customes? it´s the first time I´ve seen them and a google images search didn´t show results... they look super interesting. Are they part of a pagan tradition?

*edit* just saw the video. Such an interesting take on ukranian (also russian) tradition, not the same style we´ve seen countless times :)

I'm with you, this is certainly something different and interesting. All the more reason why we need editions like Vogue Ukraine who consistently a fashion platform to new voices.
I'm most intrigued by the portraits, the lighting and composition looks so great here. The fashion styling could've been a bit stronger though.

Thanks for posting, Sixtdaily! :)

Superb editorial. What a great homage to the Ukrainian culture and traditions.
