Vogue Ukraine May 2017 : Lera Abova by Benjamin Vnuk

Sitting bored in Chanel? Really?!! At least the masthead looks great with the image!

Really bored indeed! What is there not to her liking? Her clothes, earrings, coffee, weather, chair, no company, toilet occupied? This cover only raises questions, no enjoyment here.

If it wasn´t for her pout, I´d say her expression was going for sad... but other than that, I like everything about this cover :)

I actually think she's annoyed rather than bored and it makes me question why. So kudos to Vogue Ukraine for creating a captivating cover that also doesn't leave me cold.

Intriguing. Not their best cover, but I think that speaks more about their overall strength rather than this cover's weakness. I like that they continue to experiment.

Getting strong 'poor little rich girl' vibes from this, but I am confident taht if her expression looked less gloomy this would have been a hit. Love the styling. Chanel, in such a classic and chic (although contrived?) way. Reminds me of the Ritz presentation. I'm keen to see the full edit.

Well, the tragic thing about this cover is its headline which states: the feminism of new generation...

Ooh, ok! It's beginning to make sense then. I mean, they've replaced the classy and well put-together Parisian woman with a bored teenager. And maybe that's why she looks so grumpy, because this will be her life from now onwards..

At least it's less obnoxious in its execution. So there's that.

What does the cover line say? Maybe that would explain the expression.

Christy Turlington by Meisel wearing Chanel, that's the inspiration

I think it's lovely :flower:

lovely cover. I hate it when Vogue Ukraine tries too hard to be edgy

Well this is better than a Chanel campaign

Though, I don't like this. It's like she's sick of it. It's giving me the I'm so rich and I'm so bored vibe.

And what on earth does it have to do with the tag line? New generation feminism as per recent events show women being on the front lines of change and various movements, not just being in one café looking bored and doing nothing.

Exactly, that's what I find so tragic about it...

The combination of the tagline and image could not be more accurate. She's on a spring break from Yale, in Paris on her daddy's dime, drinking a $10 coffee, pouting that no safe space has yet been created for whatever group she's promoting this week even though she tweeted three times about it in the last two days. BTW, what's taking mom so long? They need to get to the Dior store already. She simply must have one of those witty and provocative Dior tees.

In my opinion, this cover translates the strength and power of the moment through light colours and strong, eye-catching face. Love it.
