NEW YORK — The proverbial morning after is something of a minefield in popular culture, the punchline to many a cautionary tale about the potential consequences of evening escapades. As a point of departure and source of inspiration in clothing design, the morning after requires even greater care lest the entire collection careen into the chasm of indiscretion. The morning after, then could not have been in better hands than it was Thursday afternoon at Spring Studios in those of Francisco Costa, Women’s Creative Director of Calvin Klein Collection, at the Spring 2016 runway show. “An exploration of modern sensuality through intimate deconstruction and fluid proportions,” read the program notes and were made flesh on the runway by a quartet of models at Next including Julia Fleming, Lineisy Montero, Olivia Jansing, and Wangy. The Calvin Klein Collection show is an important waypoint for any model, let alone those in their first full seasons in New York. This was the case for all four models, each who in their own way came away from this show the morning after that much stronger.
